1. We are all products of countless personal experiences. Those experiences shape our artistic instincts, 2. The more honestly we create from those experiences, the more powerful our work becomes, 3. Therefore, our goal isn't to become someone else—it's to become more ourselves, 4. Art is for the artist. Instead of asking, “What do people want?”, we should ask, “What's true about my experience?”
